The photo album cover below was created by applying a texture effect to an image in FotoFinish. It’s just one example of the countless effects you can create. The steps used to create this effect are described below.
A photo of a tree was converted into a cover for a photo album
We started with a photo of a tree, but you can choose any photo of your own for the background.
With your photo open, reduce it to a two-color image by selecting 2 colors (1-bit) under the Color Depth command in the Image menu.
Select 2 Colors in the Color Depth menu
In the Change Number of Colors dialog choose Nearest Match.
Reduce the photo to two colors
Next, go to the Image menu and select Special Effects. In the drop down menu, select Texturize Effect and click on the preview that looks best. We chose the Asphalt texture to create this example.
Apply a texturize effect
After creating the texture effect, we added text and a second photo on top for the final cover. The Text tools and Selection tools that make this possible are available in the FotoFinish Studio Edition.
